BEDMINSTER, NJ -- The latest in wireless data and voice technology

from Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile will enable delegates at next week's

President's Summit for America's Future to coordinate their activities

and share their action plans "real-time" with other delegates and with

people around the world.

The upcoming Summit launches a national effort to provide 15 million

at-risk young Americans with access to the resources they need to

succeed. From April 27 through the 29th, more than 1,700 delegates

from all 50 states will gather together to share resources, ideas and

develop concrete action plans.

To support these activities Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile has upgraded

its wireless communications network inside the Philadelphia Convention

Center and is providing Summit organizers and delegates with a variety

of wireless communications devices, to help them make the most

efficient use of their time together.

  • Using laptops equipped with wireless modems and Bell Atlantic

NYNEX Mobile AirBridge® CDPD data transmission service, Summit

participants will post their action plans and updates to the

Summit Web site real-time. This will give their fellow

participants and other interested parties the ability to monitor

the progress of the teams at any time by checking the Web site.

  • Using Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile CDMA digital cellular phones

equipped with short messaging service, Summit organizers and

participants will receive text messages on their handsets,

notifying them of event activities, Internet postings, and agenda

    changes/updates.

  • Digital wireless voice and data activities during the Summit will

be supported by a completely upgraded indoor wireless

    infrastructure at the Convention Center.

  • Pagers will help keep track of organizers and volunteers.

Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile is the largest wireless service provider on

the East Coast and the second largest in the United States. The

company owns and operates the most extensive network in the east,

covering 111,000 square miles, and the largest chain of wireless

retail outlets offering a full range of wireless personal

communications services, including voice, data and paging. Based in

Bedminster, NJ, Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile has 4.6 million customers

and 6,500 employees in the Northeast, mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and,

through a separate subsidiary, in the Southwest. The company was

formed in July, 1995, by combining the cellular operations of Bell

Atlantic Mobile and NYNEX Mobile.
