TAMPA, Fla. - Verizon Data Services, a subsidiary of Verizon Communications, earned a SUPERQuest award during the recent SUPERCOMM 2001 show.
Verizon earned the recognition -- called the Best-Built Public or Private Network: OSS/BSS -- for its Assignment, Activation and Inventory System (AAIS). This system, designed for legacy and next-generation networks of local exchange carriers, provides enhanced facility of assignment, service activation and inventory management capabilities.
AAIS automates as much of the provisioning process as possible, letting data flow through quickly and accurately. It features point-and-click screens and other tools that enhance the way service representatives help customers.
Informix, a leading software developer, nominated Verizon for the award. In its nomination, Informix noted that AAIS allows organizations to drive down costs, increase revenues, shorten line- and service-provisioning timeframes, improve inventory management, increase flexibility and improve overall customer service.
The product is being marketed by Verizon Information Technologies (www.verizonIT.com), a subsidiary of Verizon Data Services.
