La Banda

Riding on the popularity of boy bands like One Direction, Backstreet Boys and NSync, Univision is making room for another – a Latino boy band! Executive-produced by Simon Cowell and Ricky Martin, a new music-based reality competition show, La Banda, will give one lucky all-male group an opportunity of a lifetime and Verizon is on board to bring a unique digital experience to one lucky viewer.

As the official voting partner, Verizon is presenting the ultimate mobile experience for fans to engage with the show in real-time through the Univision Conecta app, a tool for viewers to vote for their favorite contestants and gain access to exclusive content. Through using the app, viewers can accumulate points for a chance to win a spot on the semi-finale as the fourth judge via hologram.

Verizon will provide one lucky fan with this innovative experience where they will share their feedback on the night’s performances alongside celebrity judges Ricky Martin, Alejandro Sanz and Laura Pausini. Verizon will also fly the “4th Judge” and a guest to Miami to attend the La Banda finale.

The Univision Conecta app will also feature the following experiences:

  • Predictor and real-time polling: Users will test their fandom and keep track of their favorite contestants in the standings and opine on topics from who performed the best to who was the most fashionable.
  • “Banda Talks”: Premium content produced weekly exclusively for Verizon customers.
  • Mi Banda (powered by Toyota): Fans will build their ultimate band with their favorite five contestants and track their performance a la fantasy sports bracket.

La Banda airs on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT (7:00 p.m. CT) on Univision.
