Preguntas frecuentes

We support four deployment options, which can be combined for optimum flexibility:

  1. Purpose-built customer premises equipment (CPE)
Vendor-specific, purpose-built SD WAN CPE, preloaded with the vendor's software, is installed at the customer’s site(s), remotely configured and then managed by Verizon.

  2. Verizon Hosted Network Services (HNS) virtual CPE (vCPE)
  3. As part of Verizon Virtual Network Services (VNS), deploying SD WAN vCPE on HNS enables you to offload traffic for value-added services such as secure Internet Breakout (IBO), Unified Communications and Collaboration as a Service (UCCaaS), session border controllers (SBCs) and public cloud offload.
  4. Public Cloud vCPE
SD WAN deployed on Public Cloud (vCPE) enables you to extend your SD WAN network directly to the public cloud edge, to help improve the overall performance of your cloud applications, and if your organization’s internet circuit fails, the gateway helps keep the cloud session active to minimize disruptions.

On-premises/DIY SD WAN requires your organization to purchase, install and configure your own networking hardware and software without the help of an outside third party. Internal IT staff will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and service of the SD WAN’s equipment, connections and software. The upside to this method is that you’ll have full control over your networks, but the downside is that it will take up IT staff and resources that could be used on more critical needs.

Managed SD WAN outsources networking applications and services to a third-party managed service provider (MSP). The benefit of using Managed SD WAN is that you get expert service and support, which frees up internal IT staff and resources that can focus on other tasks. The MSP also offers service level agreements (SLAs) that specify guaranteed networking uptime and performance. The MSP optionally furnishes the hardware and software, plus their setup and configuration, and also offers networking and transport services to each location within your organization. However, you may have limited control over certain aspects of your network using this service.

SD WAN helps you simplify managing and operating your organization’s network by rearranging network resources to deliver optimal bandwidth performance, strong security and greater efficiency.

The service uses programmed software to take advantage of multiple network connections and their characteristics to help keep certain applications on the best underlying connection, freeing up your most reliable network connection to handle your most mission-critical traffic.
