The World War I Memorial "Virtual Explorer"
The "Virtual Explorer" and the companion "Visitor Guide" augmented reality apps provide an interactive and engaging way to teach and learn about World War I.
The content was developed by the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission and the Doughboy Foundation during the centennial of WWI, culminating with the building of a new National WWI Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The leading WWI experts and historians were engaged to provide an in-depth and refreshed perspective on what was arguably one of the most consequential and transformative period in American history, but oddly a subject that had fallen into obscurity over the intervening century.
