In Unit 2 students will learn about the concepts of cost/profit/revenue and the basics of coding using the BBC micro:bit and Microsoft MakeCode. Chapter 1 introduces students to entrepreneurship by creating a marketing plan to sell salads at VIlBot’s family reunion. Chapter 2 of this unit introduces students to programming with the Micro:Bit and Make Code Chapter 3 of this unit combines entrepreneurship and coding into a scaffolded sustainability project. Students will choose from a menu of three different projects to meet the needs of various users around the world.

Objectives

  • Understand cost, profit, and revenue through an entrepreneurship lesson.
  • Learn the basics of programming with Micro:Bit and Make Code.
  • Apply their programming and entrepreneurship skills in a guided design project.
