This lesson focuses on what skills you need to know to be a game designer. By
the end of the lesson, students will understand that game designers are the
people who come up with the initial concepts of games, and they do this based
on looking at market needs and try to creatively fill the gaps with products
people will want to play and buy. Game designers need to be highly creative,
understand how to identify gaps in the market, and be persuasive to show the
game is worth building. They also must have a good background in
programming, and have an in-depth understanding of game software and
systems.
