Meet V Teamer George Barela, a proud Native American from the Piro-Manso tribe, whose roots trace back to the 16th century. Growing up in Temecula Valley—known to his people as the "Land of the Mist"—George brings a unique perspective to his role at Verizon, blending his deep respect for cultural heritage with his passion for technology’s transformative power.

“I want to help underserved communities, especially indigenous ones, see what’s possible,” he says in the video above. “We’re working to bring them the tools they need to grow without losing what makes them unique.”

And, at Verizon, that's exactly what he's doing. George works hard to expand connectivity in rural areas, reinforce our Verizon Frontline message and create learning opportunities for younger generations helping communities prepare for the future. He's also a volunteer for the Verizon Frontline Crisis Response Team, helping to restore service or establish new connections when it matters most.

And, that's just the beginning. Watch now to learn more about George and the incredible work he’s doing.
