The ability for the item to pop up and be pushed back "flat" is a nice feature so it can be gotten out of the way when not needed. However, the item seems kind of annoying to hang on to (the plastic is a hard material), and even with it pushed back flat you can't use wireless charging because it keeps the phone off the charging surface.
