  2. How much does Roadside Assistance cost?

  6. When I sign up for Roadside Assistance, how soon does it start?

    Your coverage becomes effective 48 hours after your enrollment in the program.

    If immediate service is needed within the first 48 hours, you'll be charged the Pay Per Use rate of $89.95.

  7. Is there a limit to how many times I can use Roadside Assistance at no charge?

    Yes, there is a limit of four service claims within one year. Service claims reset on your enrollment anniversary date.

    Commercial rates can be arranged for service after the limit has been reached or for services not covered.

  8. How many vehicles does Roadside Assistance cover?

    You'll only need the mobile device enrolled in Roadside Assistance with you to receive service.

  10. What is the procedure to follow if I need Roadside Assistance?

    Call one of the following:

    • #ROAD (#7623) from your enrolled phone airtime free
    • 1-87-ROADSIDE from any phone

    Roadside Assistance will prepare a request for service dispatch. You'll need to provide the following information:

    • Vehicle type (i.e., make, model and color)
    • Your location: the nearest major street / crossroad, if known

  13. Will I automatically receive a text message alert from Roadside Assistance when I call for roadside service?

    No. You'll need to verbally agree (opt-in) to receive a text message alert.

  14. How do I cancel Roadside Assistance text message alerts?

    If you no longer want to receive text message alerts, you can respond STOP to the original text message or contact Verizon Roadside Assistance Customer Service.

  15. Can I use Roadside Assistance on restricted roadways?

    Service may be limited by local traffic rules and regulations, such as restricted roadways and toll roads. Roadside Assistance from Verizon may not be available in all areas due to such regulations and rules.

    Yes, prior to securing your own roadside services, contact Verizon Roadside Assistance for pre-approval. You may be reimbursed up to $80.

  17. How do I get reimbursed for roadside services if I have Roadside Assistance?

    To receive reimbursement, simply submit the original receipt from the service provider, along with your name, address, authorization number and mobile number to the address below. Claims must be postmarked within 60 days of the date of service.

    The Verizon Roadside Assistance app is an interactive service that offers self-assisted dispatch for emergency roadside services using your Android™ smartphone or iPhone through the Verizon Roadside Assistance program. You can use the app to request immediate assistance, register your car(s) or, for Android users, sign up to become a Verizon Roadside Assistance member*.

    *Sign up option from the app is only available on Android smartphones

    Yes, you can sign up for the Verizon Roadside Assistance program one of three ways:

    • From your iPhone, through the My Verizon app
    • From your computer, through the Add-ons and apps page in My Verizon
    • On your phone, by calling *611 to speak with a customer service specialist

    While you don't have to pre-register your vehicles to use the app, we encourage you to add your vehicle's details prior to use to improve the app experience when requesting emergency roadside services.

    You can register up to 10 vehicles.

  11. How can I find out how many roadside assistance claims I have available?

    From the Verizon Roadside Assistance app Home screen menu, select More to view available claims.

  12. I don't have an Android smartphone or iPhone. Can I still get emergency roadside assistance?

    Yes, Verizon Roadside Assistance is available without an Android smartphone or iPhone. You can call #ROAD or 1-87-ROADSIDE (877-623-7433) to be assisted by a Verizon Roadside Assistance Customer Service Representative.

    Note: You must subscribe to Verizon Roadside Assistance to have access to this service. You can sign up online by:

    • Going to the Add-ons and apps page in My Verizon
    • The My Verizon app from your mobile device
