No longer supported: Verizon Messages (Message+)

The Message+ app was discontinued in December 2024. We recommend switching to:

  • Google Messages for Android devices
  • Apple Messages for iPhone and iPad devices

Good to know: All of your previous text messages (SMS/MMS) previously available in Message+ are accessible from your replacement messaging application and remain in local storage on your device.

For Android™ devices, here's how to switch to Google Messages:

  1. Open or download Google Messages. The first time you open the app, a message appears: “To use Messages, make it your default SMS app.”
  2. Tap the Set default SMS app button.
  3. Select Google Messages. Google Messages is the white icon with the blue conversation bubble.
  4. Tap Set as default.

Google Messages is now your default messaging app. Move Google Messages to the home screen dock for easier access.
