Only have had it for less than a week - but it got hit by a soccer ball during a recess game and the strap flew apart and the buckle was lost. Wish it were a bit more rugged as a kids watch. Location services are a bit vague but good enough for our uses. Kiddo likes it and happily wore it the two days before it became strapless

Dependent on carrier coverage. Device must be turned on. Verizon makes no representations or warranties about the availability or accuracy of the GPS or about the accuracy or completeness of any map data or other information.
A video call has a three minute time-duration limit to prevent the device from overheating. Video calls end automatically after the three minute duration.
Battery life and charge cycles vary with use, settings, and other factors; actual results will vary.
Data usage applies for app download and use. Video and photo features are available only on Gizmo Watch 3 and Gizmo Watch Disney Edition.

I purchase this for my son from verizon recently and they had to send me 3 watches and non of then work.. I was not able to add services .. Do not waste your time and money on this watch..

We started years ago with the first gizmo when my son was in daycare. He is now 11 turning 12 and on Gizmo3. We love the features. For the first time in so many years he recently cracked the screen I’m glad I don’t pay for protection because I was told even with the protection they can’t fix the screen which is upsetting. Imagine paying $17 a month and your only option is to pay for a replacement anyway. Other than that and his grandmother being locked out of the app for almost a year with with no assistance from Gizmo or Verizon because at the time everyone I would get in contact with had no clue how to help (finally found a person who knew the app well enough I am not satisfied with customer service from Verizon anymore they have no clue). We love the watch. I love I can call him… listen in when needed (I’ve caught adults and other children speaking to him in ways that were unacceptable thanks to this watch) and being able to locate him has been a blessing all these years. I will be replacing the broken watch as well as buying a watch for my new little one when the time comes!

Because durability is a concern for you, we recommend that you check out the Gizmo Watch 3 - Adventure. It has a diamond-like carbon coating protecting its screen. Also, we think you'll be pleased with its wireless charger. Note though that Gizmo Watch 3 - Adventure does not have a camera. We designed it that way for parents who prefer to not have a camera on their child's Gizmo Watch. (Parents who do want the camera can choose Gizmo Watch 3.)

Re the watch band, it may help to know that Gizmo Watch 3 uses a standard .8 inch (20 mm) width band which is commonly available, so although you can't change the band width, you might shop around and find a band that is more suitable for your 7 year old. Also, Gizmo Watch 3 does come in a dark navy color with a nylon band instead of the silicone band that your Gizmo has. The SKU# for the model with the nylon band is QTAX57NN. No, the Verizon GizmoWatch only has Wi-Fi reception and does not transmit Wi-Fi signals. However, the GizmoWatch does support Gizmo to Gizmo messaging, which includes calling and texting. Caregivers can set up to 20 trusted contacts for their child to call, text, or send voice notes to. We replaced my child’s gizmo watch with a new one. Same exact one . His broke so got a replacement. The new one doesn’t have a qwerty keyboard. How do I get that back so my child can type messages.

This article that shows where to find it. https://www.verizon.com/support/knowledge-base-307342/ If you still don't see the keyboard, your watch may need to update to the latest software. When my daughter is at school and I turn on real time tracking it says she is somewhere other than the school. Not too far but a few blocks away. And I get multiple notifications that she is not at the address of the school. Can this be corrected some how

Do other people have to have the hub app to call/text the watch?

Gizmo watches allow communication only to trusted contacts. There are different contact roles: Calling Contacts do not need the GizmoHub app. They can call but not text. Guardians and Caregivers can call and text but they need the Gizmo Hub app for texting and locating the Gizmo watch. Gizmo Buddies can call and text each other but do not need the app because they are communicating from their watches, not a smartphone.
