I have had one 3days and it wont charge. When it was on the lifespans short. The gizmo is good. Verizon in is no help only will give you the runaround and try to upgrade you.

Regarding the staff offering to upgrade, it might be because they see there are newer Gizmo models available (Gizmo Watch 3 and Gizmo Watch 3 - Adventure). If you've only had the watch for a short period, you should be covered under the 1 year manufacturer's warranty. My daughter has had this watch for two years. It's easy to use. It's her first smart watch and I feel comfortable when she has it. My biggest complaint is that she accidentally calls contacts almost every day. I wish there was a way to lock the screen or a password or a way to unlock it. We've also had some issues with it not charging.

Ever since getting this watch, we’ve only had problems. With the device and Verizon. Support sucks. The face broke, tried getting warranty replacement; but the person added another line and a new phone number instead costing me way more money. The charger never works. GPS Doesn’t update for hours/days.

Never charges, takes forever for gps to locate, dies quickly. The reasons you buy the watch are all the things that don’t work. I won 2. Neither work.

The charger caught on fire while my family of 6 slept

The charger (without the watch on it) lit on fire while my family of 6 was sleeping. We woke up to a horrible smell and smoke; it was terrifying. The watch itself works well but how can I trust the charger now?? So upset and Verizon customer service via phone was so awful. They said they could do nothing to help or rectify the situation. I went into a store and then I was treated with grace and respect. So scary and upsetting!

A vital calling feature is missing, and all the two stars make it sound like this product is "Fine"

The numeric keypad is missing during calls. Without this feature, you cannot change, adjust, or rerecord voicemails, dial extensions, or navigate menus in calls. You could put a button in the top left corner that appears while in a call and, when pressed, pops up a number pad screen.

My son has had this watch for over 2 years. We chose this in particular because it does not allow calls or messages from unknown numbers. Overall it has been a good product. As mentioned, the battery life is short. We need to charge it nightly, and the charging mechanism is worthless. I recommend buying a 3rd party elevated charger, or you will be pulling your hair out trying to clean tiny little magnets every single night. I don’t know how the charging mechanism passed any sort of quality control. My son likes the watch and other than the charging, I’ve been happy with it. I like the peace of mind of being able to call him when he’s at a friend’s house. We use this device for calling, messaging, and GPS tracking only.

I purchased 2 of these about a year ago for my two kids. After about 6 months in, I was ready to upgrade them to something more robust, but right around the time I was ready to do that, GizmoWatch released several major updates to provide the QWERTY keyboard, group messaging, and that the watches could receive pictures. These updates were some of my main reasons for wanting something different. Things I love: - The ability to control who they can contact - GPS functionality - Although it's not the most accurate. We keep the "live tracking" turned off to conserve the battery most of the time. I can still check their location, but I have to manually prompt it to find the location. - battery life is pretty decent. They wear the watches to school every day, but don't use them much other than to check the time or text me at the end of the day about pickup. We keep the step counter & live GPS off to help with battery life. Things that they need to improve: - The app for the parents to use is a bit clunky. Even after a year, I can't remember what the icons mean on the screen or where I find various settings. I spend way more time than I should trying to find what I'm looking for. - The watch needs a lock screen. More than once, my kids have accidentally called each other (or me) during the school day because they've bumped their watch. - There's no spellcheck or autocorrect in the mobile app, so I have to be very careful when I type. You also can't copy/paste messages in the mobile app, which is a bit annoying - Would love for the kids to be able to create reminders for themselves. The parent can create a "to do" on the app, but it doesn't really remind the kid to do it, and the kid cannot create their own.

No. Gizmo watches have wi-fi in the background only to assist with location updates. Connectivity for calls and messages is through the Verizon network.

The Gizmo Watch 2 band can be adjusted for wrists as small as 4.5 inches (circumference). The width of the band is about .8 inch (20mm). -Joseph
