I really like the new Apple TV 4K. I already had the 2nd gen version, but I purchased a new TV and wanted that one to have Apple TV as well. Responds very quick and display is crisp. also tvOS is updated to 26. Even better when you add a HomePod.

I love compared to fire stick and a Roku it’s another extension of my phone and I love how I can pay my Apple Arcade games on here and connect my control via Bluetooth and the apps on your iPhone are all compatible with the Apple TV.

By itself it’s a nice streaming box. Not only for all the streaming apps but you can make it your primary hub in AppleHome and unlock a bunch of cool features. Its capabilities truly unlock when you pair it with 2 HomePods to form a nice sound system that’s truly wireless with zero lag. Sounds amazing and pu ches far above its price range in the home theater space. Add in a nice OLED and you have a nice home theater set up.

I purchased the Apple tv as a replacement for an Amazon fire stick because I got tired of intrusive advertising and occasional audio skipping. I wish I had just stayed with the fire stick because I have had constant problems with the Apple TV. The user interface on the Apple TV is much better than the fire TV and it is easier to navigate and start watching things where I left off. Unfortunately, the experience is ruined because of frequent software bugs. I have had issues with the volume slider becoming stuck in the screen and the volume level continuously decreasing until it's muted. This happens on a daily basis and I have spent hours trying to trouble shoot it. All the software and firmware has been updated and I have tried multiple different input methods. This seems to be a known problem after searching online. The only way to fix it is to reset the remote, apple TV, and my entire AV system every time and it happens almost every day. I have gone back to putting up with the fire stick, because although the audio skipping and ads are annoying, it's not nearly as frustrating as having to reboot the Apple tv and remote every time I watch something. Verizon only permits returns for 30 days, so now I've got a 100$ paper weight.

I have a smart LGTV. Just got the newest and best version of Apple TV. Do I need anything besides what's in the box to get this up and going? I have a much earlier version but, it doesn't seem to work.
