How to use Droid Zap to share photos and videos

With just a two-finger swipe, easily share photos and videos of family occasions or group events, either publicly or privately.

If you love sharing photos and videos, you’ll love the upgraded version of Droid Zap, a Motorola app that lets you create public or private “Zap Zones.” That means you can share photos and videos with the ease of a simple swipe.

With version 3.2, Droid Zap sports some notable improvements, such as a more intuitive and elegant user experience, and the dimensions of a Zap Zone have increased to a radius of up to 1,000 feet.

Get ready to Zap

Droid Zap now comes loaded on Android™ smartphones such as the Droid Turbo 2 by motorola, and can be downloaded for the LG G5 or other phones via Google Play™. If you’re an Apple® iPhone® user, no problem: Motorola has also developed a Zap app for iOS.

Public sharing

When it comes to sharing those beautiful, awkward, thrilling and funny moments of your life, Droid Zap offers two modes: public and private. With Droid Zap, public sharing couldn't be simpler. Send photos and videos (up to two minutes) to fellow zappers by swiping two fingers upward on the image. To receive images from nearby zappers, swipe two fingers downward on your phone's screen. Available photos and videos download to your Droid Zap photo album.

Private sharing

If you want to share images privately with a select group, create an invitation-only Zap Zone. Select New Zap Zone in the app’s menu, provide a name and photo for your zone and select your invitees. Send the invitation with a two-finger upward swipe; invitees can accept with a two-finger downward swipe. Now, everyone’s photos and videos are automatically uploaded to the private, cloud-based Zap Zone.

As the private Zap Zone’s organizer, you control its duration. Once you select the End Zap Zone command, the zone disappears.

Do you want more control over who can view your images? No worries. You can use the Lock Things I Share feature to generate a random four-digit PIN, and only people who receive the PIN from you will be able to download your photos or videos.

Exclusive Droid Turbo perks

If you’re the lucky owner of a Droid Turbo 2 by motorola, you have access to several unique features, such as the ability to use your voice to zap a screenshot by telling your phone, “OK Droid Turbo, zap my screen.”
