[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this to try other than a another product I was using.Was truly shocked at how well this Chromecast work with the Google Tv. Streaming seems to lag sometimes but so do other streaming devices. Love how well the remote works when searching. I can say when you ask per say a name of a movie or show sometimes it will take you else where like YouTube or something. That's a little frustrating. I did find it being fast and reliable most of the time. I think Google is on right track with streaming devices. Love that it's small enough to hide behind the TV some and the USB cord isn't super long . Overall it's great streaming device. Would highly recommend

The chromecast with Google Tv is by far the best device available to the mainstream market right now. All you need to see is the homescreen/main page and if you have a few different streaming services, like a lot of us do at this point, it shows you what is on all of the different services all on one screen.i don't know of another device that will do that right now. To each thier own, but like I said, if you have a few, or many streaming services, this chromecast gives a whole different experience than any of the past chromecasts.

Chromecast with Google TV not really that good, the shows and TV is fine but trying to find something to watch needs a lot of help.on the TV search you only get to see what is playing at that time for live TV. You don't get to see what is coming up in the next hour or the rest of the night. trying to find what is on with your phone you only get to see the next half hour and nothing past that.by the time you find something to watch you have already missed the first 5 or 10 minutes. I can setup movies to record later but not local TV shows.as far as I can tell there is no printed TV listing that you can find that will list the shows correctly. there is no info on how to setup recording schedules for tv shows, i feel like I need to back to an outside antenna to see local tv and weather information.

The YouTube TV service is very good. The Chromecast hardware is not good at all. YouTube TV works much better on our Roku. The Chromecast hardware must be underpowered. It is sluggish and slow. The remote is flimsy and not pleasing to operate.If Google fixes the hardware, this could be a great way to fully leverage the best of what YouTube TV can offer.

I have a setup where I control everything through my Denon Atmos receiver, unfortunately Google TV only broadcasts in non HDR mode and just stereo.Other than casting from my phone it's useless to me.
