Stopped working after 3 months

I really wanted to like this cable. It was long and out of the box seemed to have good quality to it. It was a thicker cable which I liked the feel and weight of. However after a month or so he material started fray and become super dingy. Like an old wool sweater. No big deal, I know the cord lays on the floor when it’s not in use since it’s so long by the side of my bed. But after about 3 months it stopped working entirely. The pins were clean and nothing in the cable was damaged or ever kinked it just gave out. Very disappointed .
