Setting Up Hum by Verizon (3:04)
Configurar Hum by Verizon
Hum es la tecnología que te conecta con tu auto. Because you and your family have places to be, and getting there is everything.
The following steps will guide you as you setup your new Hum+ or Humx. If you have a Humx we'll show you how to set up your Wi-Fi hotspot at the end.
In your box, you'll find the Hum Bluetooth® speaker, the On-board-diagnostics (or OBD) reader, a car charger and a charging cable for your speaker. It's a good idea to charge your speaker before use. Now would be a good time to charge it for about 20 minutes before installation.
You can activate your Hum System in three easy steps. Comencemos:
Step 1: Download the Hum App - Go to the Google Play™ Store or the Apple® App Store® and search for "Hum App". Once downloaded, open the app and tap Create Account. Or you can visit customer.hum.com, and click Create Account using your computer.
Step 2: Create your account - Click on Yes Activate System and locate the system ID which is on the outside of your Hum box. Follow the prompts within the app to finish your account setup and activate your Hum System.
Step 3: Installing your equipment - Now that you've created your account, let's install the equipment in your vehicle.
First, locate your vehicle's OBD II port, which is normally located under the driver's side dash. With your vehicle turned off, plug the Hum OBD Reader into the OBD II port.
Next, clip your charged speaker to the driver's visor for access to roadside help at your fingertips.
The speaker is central to your Hum service and connects you to a trained agent when Hum detects a collision and you need assistance. You can also use it to answer calls, quickly contact Emergency Assistance, and call the Mechanics Hotline for auto advice.
To pair the speaker to your phone via Bluetooth, let's start by turning on your vehicle.
Just one last thing. If you purchased a Humx, you also have Wi-Fi hotspot included. Here's how to connect to it:
First, make sure your car is running and the Hum OBD Reader is plugged in.
Second, enable Wi-Fi on the device you wish to connect.
Third, select your Humx network and enter your temporary Humx password, located on the back of your Humx speaker. You can change the network name and password at any time in the Hum App.
And that's it! You're ready to hit the road.
