With the use of the JBL One app. I'm able to set the eq to my liking. I really like the ability to use Google or Alexa voice commands. The setup was easy.

(Reviewed by someone who paid with his my own $$$) Very aesthetically pleasing! Has room filling sound. Quality Bass nothin that will shake your windows. superb highs. Mids are very good. Vocals are clear. Overall it's an impressive speaker. pumps out a lot of sound for its size. I'm glad I purchased it only con is its price. $350 retail seems a bit much, got it on Verizon website for $275. If they had the 300 I would have purchased that one because it's bigger for only 100 more. Speaker fulfills its job 2x more room filling sound than my HOMEPOD 1rst gen.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received the speaker and started listening to my usual tracks to test the sound, I noticed that the Authentics skipped quite a bit. Every few minutes it would skip for a few seconds, as if my phone was out of reach of the bluetooth signal. But this issue went away after a software/firmware update, which itself went quickly and easily using JBL One app. The visual design is great. It's cool looking, with either real or faux leather covering top and the sides. The front grill matches everything else in its style, but I wish it was removable, as the images outside the box suggest. Alas, the grill is not removable. Connection, connectivity, and usage were all good, sans the hiccup in the very beginning. The speaker wakes up reasonably quickly, and keeps the signal well. All buttons are satisfyingly tactile, and dials are a pleasure to use. Bass and treble dials briefly light up at their base to show the respective levels. Volume knob does the same, and it also incorporates the play/ff/rw button. The smart speaker functionality is good, as is expected. Sound quality is what you'd expect from JBL, given that this is an indoor classy speaker. It's not as heavy on bass as some of the portable JBL speakers (Charge, Partybox to name a few), and is a bit higher in fidelity. Jazz sounds amazing on this speaker, live and present. Overall, it is a well-done speaker that doesn't excel at anything except being a classy indoor speaker.

With the leather-like exterior and gold finishes, this is finally a speaker that I can display and it looks cool with my decor. It's easy to use, and I particularly like the rewind and fast forward function built in to the volume control button. The sound is clear and definitely big enough to fill the room. Would highly recommend this speaker!

There are sounds in songs I've been listening to for years that I have never heard before I listened on the Authentics 200. The speaker has such clarity and definition. The bass is tremendous, Big, HUGE! You can hear it throughout our home. I am in love with the vintage style it brings to my space. I absolutely believe it guarantees it's value! Why not 5 stars, you ask? Well, I'm not sure if this is a kink or if something is wrong with mine, but it tends to skip. I know there's nothing wrong with my music because it plays just fine in the car. It also needs to stay plugged in at all times to work. There's no way to charge it. Overall, though, it is a tiny beast! Love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for a home speaker like the Authentics 200 to use while I'm learning new songs on electric guitar. This thing is solid, compact and heavy duty. I was blown away by the sound clarity. The speakers can pack a punch when the volume is turned up. A couple great features of the Authentics 200 is the treble knob and bass knob with the LED indicating lights because I can adjust the EQ for the music I want to listen to. The subwoofer on the bottom has a really full sound and it moves a lot of air for the size. I'm actually really surprised how much I've enjoyed the Authentics 200. I would highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really loving this speaker and the retro look. Its very intuitive to use and set up. The volume and equalizer control knobs on top are easy to use and I prefer over push button adjustments. IMO the best part is having it connected to the WiFi and setting it up with Google assistant. When it is set up on the WiFi it is always ready for action and you don't have to initiate Bluetooth everytime you want to use it. Google assist allows you to control the speaker completely hands free. It has the perfect amount of bass and a very rich sound. Would highly recommend this speaker. There is not really any negative aspects, except maybe the volume knob feels a little cheap plasticky. Love it!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have both the Authentic 200 and the Authentic 300 The little 200 puts out huge sound and big bass!! HUGE SOUND! I find tho that there's a fine line on the bass adjustment ... just a hair over is too much and the bass becomes a mess. That's my only complaint. I'm in shock over the sound this lil thing puts out!! The bigger 300 is ......unstoppable!! The high highs and the low lows sound incredible!!! My daughter listens to EDM and house music - at very high volumes- and this speaker sounds perfect. I've yet to hear the bass lose itself in the high volume range, at all. This speaker can take whatever you hand it. I'm very very impressed For the 1 or 2 complaints I've seen on the price.. you get what you pay for! JBL makes nice/good looking, sturdy and long lasting products that sound good! If you love music like I do, it's more than worth it!! (EVERYTHING has gotten more expensive anyway…) I'm still listening to my Charge 2 (and Charge 2 plus ) that's prolly close to 10 years old and it sounds as good as it did the day I got it! Keep it up JBL!! These are some really nice speakers! (My neighbors hate them🤣)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment I opened the box I was impressed by the stylish appearance of this JBL. It looks like nothing else I've ever owned, and I immediately cleared a display area for it in my kitchen, where another, smaller, smart speaker had previously resided. The real impression came, however, when I plugged it in and started playing some music. The dynamic range on this is truly impressive; the bass can be felt through the entire counter surface. There are separate knobs to adjust treble, bass, and volume, though the volume was easy to control using my phone as well. I first tested the bluetooth capabilities, which worked flawlessly and at a significant range, before installing the JBL+ app and following the setup instructions. Within about two minutes I had the Authentics 200 connected to my home's wifi network and authenticated for use as a smart speaker with the major smart-home 3rd parties...you know the ones. Now it's super easy to use the Authentics for everything from playlists to streaming radio, to setting timers or my kids getting quick answers to questions. All in all, a splendid addition to the home sound network.

At the moment I have an Echo Sub paired to two Dots in stereo for our sitting room. Will the Echo Sub work with a pair of these 200's?

Our JBL Authentics can't pair with the Echo Subwoofer. It can be linked to other JBL Authentic series through speaker grouping. If you need more help, please contact our customer support for assistance.

Thanks for you inquiry. Please note that the JBL Authentics 200 does not come with a built-in battery and cannot be used as a portable speaker. We suggest considering the JBL Authentics 300, which is portable and provides up to 8 hours of playback time.

Thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Authentics 200's USB input solely supports MP3 and WAV. USB playback is available in the US version. For other versions, USB is for Service only.

Thanks for your inquiry. In order to create a stereo pair with our JBL Authentic 200, in the JBL One App, at the top right, there is a picture of two speakers. Click on this then you will need to slide to the right once to create a Stereo Group. This will allow you to use both Authentics 200 in the stereo mode.
