Cool product...TERRIBLE RELIABILITY

Welp, here we go again. 6 months in, and another faulty pair of headphones that I'm going to try to get replaced. This would be my 5th pair of headphones from JBL in the last two years. The first three (Tune 225 tws) all came apart at the seam in the exact same spot, making them excruciatingly uncomfortable to wear. So, I upgraded to the Tune 230 tws. Different product, same shoddy craftsmanship. With both pairs of the Tune 230s the right headphone simply stopped charging, seemingly for no reason at all. I've tried cleaning them with alcohol and a cotton swab but seeing as that hasn't fixed it, I'm bereft of options yet again. Time to try and get ANOTHER replacement pair. I'd give up on this company if I didn't feel I was owed a replacement.

Short lifespan - Good for music but not for calls

When I first bought these I loved them. I appreciated the app to adjust controls, etc. I purchased these for work (calls and MS Teams meetings) as well as personals calls, and listening to music while exercising. I was really looking for good sound quality that blocked out the noise in my background so only my voice was heard on the other end. Unfortunately these weren't it. People on the other end of my calls could hear everything in my background plain as day and at times my background noise was amplified on their end. Definitely the opposite of what I was looking for to use for work calls, and even personal calls for that matter. I also had issues with the reliability/dependability of these earbuds. After about 1 year of use (maybe used a handful of times per week), the right earbud was no longer working. It was permanently dead, wouldn't charge, etc. I reached out to CS and they were great to work with. I shipped my earbuds to them to diagnose (in the meantime I was without earbuds which wasn't ideal), but ultimately my earbuds were no good and they shipped me a new pair. The new pair worked great up until about the 1+ year mark. I again had issues with the right earbud - not lighting up when putting in the charger case or charging, etc. I really like the style/fit of these earbuds and I so badly want to love them but the quality and dependability are deal breakers for me.

This is the worst Air Bud that I've ever had, I've had it for almost a year, it has stopped charging up to 100% Within 5 months after having it and when it charges claim fully with all the lights lit and I use it within 15 minutes it says I only have 10% left of battery use. I also noticed that the left earbud wasn't working you can't hear anything in that earbud. Very disappointed with this Air Bud I thought it would have last for a very long time but it hasn't what a waste of money on this item.

Keep connecting while in closed charging case

They keep connecting to device even tough they are inside the case. I've cleaned the contacts on the buds and in the case. The buds are both charging fine, but the case keeps losing charge because the buds are always trying to connect.

Audio Keeps Cutting Out

I got these headphones for Christmas. Now that I'm using them a month later I'm realizing that they keep on cutting out but not disconnecting. Then only on goes back one. It is extremely frustrating. At this point definitely not getting another JBL production.

Had these for 2 months , noise cancelling is really annoying , pulsating bass is just unbearable in everyday use + poor battery life( case s battery drains just itself without earbuds in) . Otherwise i love jbl speakers , but earphones are not great.

Works great until it starts to not work after abit

I bought this a while ago, and for like the first year or so it worked great, but after a few falls (I'm very clumsy) I got a case. And a few months after that, it started to not work properly, for example one earbud had less audio then the other, and they didn't sound great and the sound from activating noise cancelling and stuff didn't work great. I'm pretty disappointed in this these days, but before it worked great.

First, you may try to clean the charging terminals on the earbuds using a swab dipped in rubbing alcohol, as foreign matter on the metal charging contacts. Next, you may check the balance control on your source device by going to the "Accessibility" settings and if you are using the JBL Headphones App, check the balance control in the Headphone app. You can also initiate a reset with both earbuds on, and not charging, tap two times and hold the button on the third tap for more than 5 seconds. If the issue remains, please contact our customer support for further assistance.

Can the JBL TUNE230NC Case be charged wirelessly?

Thanks for your question. Our JBL Tune 230NC TWS isn't Qi-compatible for wireless charging docks. The earbuds can only be charged by putting them inside the rechargeable charging case which can be plugged into a power outlet. In addition, you can check out our JBL Live Pro 2 TWS or JBL Live Free 2 TWS, as these models are Qi-compatible for wireless chargers.

Our JBL Tune 230NC TWS is recommended to be paired with mobile phones, tablets, and laptops via Bluetooth connection. We don't recommend pairing it to your TV because you may experience compatibility issues and audio-video delays as these headphones don't have APTX HD low latency codec.

How to power on /off the earbusds manually . I cannot wear the charging box always and in teh manual it does not explain how is it done manually

How can I get rid of the annoying "earbuds connected" sound that happens everytime my earbuds connect to my phone's bluetooth, it is so loud and not at all soothing .... I downloaded the jbl app on my phone, but that doesn't have any way to turn this off?

The system sounds of our JBL Tune 230NC TWS don't have any option to be turned off or disabled. These default sounds are programmed in the earbuds as an indication to let the user know if they're connected to Bluetooth.

Am I able to purchase replacement eartips for my earbuds? I have JBL TUNE230NC TWS. I’ve used eartips from another JBL headphones but since they’re not the right size they don’t cancel out noise.

What is adaptive noise cancelling

Our JBL Tune 230NC TWS has an Adaptive Noise-Canceling feature that minimizes unwanted noise from your surroundings. It will not completely block out the sound of the Lawnmower but it will significantly decrease its noise while you are listening to music.
