Thank you for reporting this issue to us. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have received a small number of reports of this multi-tap problem occurring, typically after a software update. We haven’t been able to identify the root cause, because the problem is rare and goes away after a while. We're glad that your phone is working correctly now. For others who see this problem, below is a procedure which a couple users said resolved this problem for them.1. Go into the Message app and open a message as if you were going to reply to that message
2. Press the left soft key and select “Abc”
3. Press the end key to exit the Message app
4. Power off the phone and power it back on again
Other users reported that the problem went away after they turned their phone off and on 3 or 4 times.
