Does the mic shut off at the end of a call (both for normal call and on speaker phone)?

How do I get to messages

I got the phone and I CANT receive texts from others- I CAN send them. Calls work both ways. There’s greyed out spots for message setting under APN. Both my SSM and SMS is on. My SIM card says correct phone on my Verizon plan. Help me-I can’t get texts.
