The Bluetooth speaker market isn’t short on variety — whether it’s size, brand, color or price. At $299, Bose's Soundlink Revolve+ Bluetooth Speaker is on the pricier end of the spectrum, but it delivers a lot of boom for the buck.

Bose products have a reputation for premium, high-quality sound, and the Soundlink Revolve+ — a larger version of the original — keeps the streak alive.

Here are 5 key strengths of the Bose Soundlink Revolve+ Bluetooth Speaker:

1. Natural audio: The Bose Soundlink Revolve+ offers clear, natural sound. “What separates the Bose from its competitors is the ability [to] play a little louder, put out more bass without distorting and sound a little more natural with decent detail,” writes CNET.

2. 360-degree sound: The Revolve+’s cylinder design lets users project their music to an entire room. The speaker offers immersive sound that fills a space, instead of music directed at just one specific area. Trusted Reviews notes that the Revolve Plus “genuinely didn’t display any noticeable dead spots as I walked around the room — or at least not to the extent that you get with most 360 speakers.” Putting the speaker in a corner or against a wall can help amplify the sound even more.

 

3. Sleek, durable design: “Thanks to its integrated handle and ‘seamless’ aluminum enclosure, the Revolve Plus reminds a lot of people of a lantern, and that seems like an intentional choice on Bose's part,” writes CNET. The speaker is encased in a single-piece aluminum closure that comes with an IPX4 rating, meaning it’s water-resistant and ideal for outdoor gatherings and parties.

4. Hours of battery life: With the Revolve+, the music doesn’t have to stop — at least not for a good 16 hours. The Bluetooth speaker’s lithium-ion battery provides up to 16 hours of playback on a full charge. The speaker can be recharged using a cable and wall adapter, or by the separately purchased charging base. A USB port allows users to play music on the speaker from their computer, a “solid, fairly uncommon feature,” according to PCMag. 

5. In-stereo capability: Why have 1 speaker when you could have 2? The Bose Revolve+ allows users to pair 2 speakers together for stereo or party-mode playback. “To test stereo pairing I threw on some tracks from the '60s and '70s (The Rolling Stones, The Doors and The Beatles) that feature a lot of stereo separation,” writes CNET. “They sounded good for compact, battery-powered wireless speakers,” though users shouldn’t expect the power and playback quality of Bose’s larger wireless speakers, CNET notes. 

Overall, anyone looking for a high-quality, portable Bluetooth speaker will be well served by the Bose Soundlink Revolve+. CNET reports that it's "as good or better than anything I've tested in its size class."
