Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Apparently there’s a chance that all of the keys, besides the function keys or any keys that can be used for gesture commands, will randomly stop working. Best case scenario you remove and then restart your device and things go back to normal, worst case scenario your Magic Keyboard becomes a paperweight over night? My keys stopped working about a week in randomly while going through the motions of rebinding gesture shortcuts and I was able to get through the best case scenario: looked on Reddit and this happened with older model iPad magic keyboards often, so… keep that in mind. If you can live through the terror then the experience overall is splendid otherwise. It feels as seemless as typing on a MacBook and is a bit top heavy but works for most of the sitting positions in my lap and you don’t have to worry about it tilting on a flat tabletop surface. It does make the entire lightweight iPad experience a lot heavier, almost as heavy as a MacBook Air I would say, but I think it’s worth it for the most part. Oh! Your Apple Pencil will be exposed and more prone to losing than ever before lol gl. I’m satisfied with my purchase anyway (with my fingers crossed).

I enjoy the ease of connectivity for this keyboard. What I wish is that I could fold the keyboard under in reverse or somehow lay the iPad flat without having to remove it from the keyboard. The price is a bit excessive as well.

Power Draw and Weak Magnets

Draws power from ipad, so unless you keep Bluetooth of when not using it your ipad will drain battery power in was matter of a few hours. Even if you do that, when using it out it's drawing down your ipads battery. The magnets holding the keyboard to the iPad are weak and the keyboard has fallen off repeatedly in just a couple of days. We returned it.

The Magic Keyboard works perfectly! My iPad is held to it very strongly so I don’t have to worry about the keyboard falling off. And I when (in the past) I have accidentally dropped my iPad with the Magic Keyboard it has protected it. It is possible for damage with a large fall on a hard surface, but so far there has hasn’t been any. The keys are nicely spaced and I can type quickly using it. Using the keyboard also keeps the screen of the iPad much cleaner than typing on the screen. I’ve been using the Magic Keyboards with previous iPads for a long time, and will continue to do so. With my iPad Pro 11, I’m confident in long term protection of it.

Do you have to charge it separately from the iPad or does it charge while you have it connected to a "changing" iPad?

The keypad draws power from the iPad. You can charge your iPad directly or via the USB-C port on the keyboard. -Lauren

Thanks for your inquiry! To charge an Apple Magic Keyboard, connect a USB-C to Lightning cable to the Lightning port on the back of the keyboard, then plug the other end into a USB port on your Mac or a USB power adapter; the keyboard will automatically charge while connected. -Christy
