Looking and feeling this case it doesn't seem like it would offer that much protection like the kinds that come with a rubber liner and a hard plastic shell. I'm not entirely sure that it holds up to that, but the claims on the box about testing by dropping from 16 ft 8 times or whatever it was seem to be pretty confident. So unless I drop my phone from a height several times I'm not sure if this claim is true or not.
It is nice that it is translucent, you can still see the colored back of the phone that normally is covered up by a traditional case. At least you don't lose that. I always thought it a waste to have phones with colors that no one can see when the case is on.
The only things that I really miss is having ridges on the edges of the case. The ridges give you more grip on the phone and help keep you from dropping it. Sometime when I run, I have to hold the phone in my hand (no one makes an armband for the size of my phone yet) and when I do, while running, I'm afraid I'm going to drop it. The edges are very smooth and the only ride/indentation id for the volume and power button. The other thing I miss is a kickstand. I have to prop it up to watch something hands free without looking straight down on it
