Some cheap after-market cables are good for charging, but are horrible when it comes data or photo transfer. Verizon cable seems every bit as good as the OEM Samsung cable that came with my phone for charging, data, and photo transfer..

I ruined the original one and needed to purchase a new one. Works just as it is supposed to. It's a little longer than the original the phone came with, but that is an advantage.
