My old Moto was a good phone but was bginning to have problems so I replaced it with this one. Hate it! It doesn't respond well to the touch (i.e. have to tap multiple times to end a call) and it does unexpected things like when I tap an email to open it the phone archives the message. It has also archived text messages when tapped to open. Screen edges are nearly inoperable. Really struggle to get the text "send" to work. Heading to the store to buy something else.

I was just really happy to have tech that was not 5 years old! If you rely on your device for taking pictures, make sure the camera is active. I lost a few spur of the moment pics because the cam wasn't ready when I was. Frustration! You will want to update apps one at a time and keep the cache clean so the processors don't overload. Charges fast and keeps a charge. I don't use the fingerprint reader so I can't offer any feedback with that, but everything else seems to function. You really notice when there is poor connectivity! Good choice for the price range.

I had an earlier model moto g (2020) and it was starting to have performance issues. I upgraded to the 2023 model to improve performance. The reviews were part of my reason for selecting this device, I must say this phone disappoints me daily. Extreme lag with every app, including messaging and the internet. I often have to close out and go back into the app several times to get it to load. I also get the "wait" or "close app" message a lot. It doesn't matter what I am trying to open it happens with all of them. I took a lot of the junk apps off when I bought it (news sites, games). I keep my cache cleared too. I'm on Verizon and I also have wi-fi. The common denominator wherever I am using this device is the device....I've had this device less than 3 months and already have to replace it. It will not be with another moto. I hope this review spares someone else the waste of money, time, and poor performance.
