What is the GizmoHub app?

GizmoHub is a smartphone app that lets you call, locate and manage Gizmo watches. With the app, you can:

Speak with your child – The Gizmo watch allows for two-way communication, so you and your child can call each other.
Video chat with your child – Video call with your child's Gizmo Watch 3 or Verizon GizmoWatch Disney Edition for up to 3 minutes for a quick catch-up.
Locate your child – Check the location of your child's Gizmo watch with one tap.
- Schedule a time for the Gizmo watch to automatically update its location.
- Set GPS boundaries and get notified if the Gizmo watch enters or leaves the area.
Add contacts – Invite Gizmo Buddies, Caregivers and other Guardians so they can call and get calls from the Gizmo watch.
- The Gizmo Buddy feature allows calling and texting between Gizmo Watches.
Send messages – Send short text messages to your child's Gizmo watch.
Create group chats - Guardians can create a chat group to allow group texting between all Guardians' smarphones and a child's Gizmo watch.
Manage your child's Gizmo – You can use the GizmoHub app to change settings on the Gizmo watch (e.g.; volume, ringtones, fun sounds etc.).
Keep your child's information safe – Add a PIN to protect the app. Even if your smartphone is lost or stolen, your child's information stays protected.

How do I get the GizmoHub app and what does it cost?

To set up your Gizmo watch, dowload the free GizmoHub app on your smartphone. Get the app from the Google Play™ Store or Apple® App Store®.

Does my smartphone need to be on a Verizon mobile plan to use the GizmoHub app?

No. You can download and use the GizmoHub app on any designated Caregiver or Guardian's smartphone. That's regardless of the carrier that provides the smartphone's mobile plan.

A Gizmo watch, however, is a Verizon product and must be activated on its own Verizon line.

What permissions do Guardians, Caregivers, Gizmo Buddies and Calling Contacts have?

How many contacts can a Gizmo watch be paired with?

How many contacts your Gizmo watch can have depends on the model:

Gizmo Watch 3 and Gizmo Watch 3 - Adventure can have up to 20 contacts, including the Primary Guardian.
Earlier Gizmo watches allow up to 10 contacts, including the Primary Guardian.
You can invite Gizmo Buddies, Caregivers and Guardians.

Each pairing invitation you send counts toward your total number of approved contacts. Invitations stay pending in your queue until they're accepted or declined by the person you invited.

Can I add 911 as a contact in the GizmoHub app?

No, you can't program 911 as one of the numbers for the Gizmo watch to call. Gizmo watches aren't compatible with 911 or similar emergency telephone number systems.

Does a Gizmo watch require a yearly subscription?

The Unlimited data plan for a Gizmo watch is $10 per month (plus taxes and fees) with no commitment. You can cancel anytime.

How does Gizmo Group Chat work?

Gizmo Group Chat allows group messaging between Guardians, Caregivers and Gizmo Buddies:

A Guardian creates a chat group in the GizmoHub app:
- Gizmos must be either a Gizmo Watch 2, Gizmo Watch 3 or Gizmo Watch 3 - Adventure. (GizmoWatch Disney Edition does not support Group Chat.)
- All Buddies in a chat group must be on the same GizmoHub app account.
- Guardians can add or delete group members or delete a group entirely.
- Group Chat supports a maximum of 20 contacts per group, which requires at least 3 participants, including a compatible Gizmo watch.

How do I delete or reset my Gizmo watch from the GizmoHub app?

To delete or reset your Gizmo watch from the GizmoHub app:

Make sure your Gizmo is charged and turned on.
From the GizmoHub app, tap More.
Tap Manage Devices.
Tap Child Gizmo Device.
Under Device Settings, choose Delete Gizmo.

Note: This resets the Gizmo watch and lets you add it back to a child's profile.

How do I care for my Gizmo watch?

To care for your Gizmo watch:

Keep your watch and the charging contacts clean and dry.
Clean and dry your watch and wrist regularly. Wipe off sweat immediately after exercise.
Don't scrape the charging contacts with anything metal. Damaged plating may corrode over time.

Is my Gizmo watch waterproof?

Gizmo's are splash and water resistant, but submerging isn't recommended. To maintain Gizmo watch performance, see user guide for water resistance information.

What is Gizmo Photo Gallery Backup?

Files on your Gizmo Watch 3 may auto-delete after 30 days or when storage is full.

Turn on Photo Gallery Backup in the GizmoHub app to auto-save your photos and videos to the Gizmo Cloud. Guardians on the account can then share and download these files through the GizmoHub app.

Which Gizmo watch has Photo Gallery Backup?

Gizmo Watch 3 is the only Gizmo watch model that allows Photo Gallery Backup at this time.

Do I have to turn on the Photo Gallery Backup feature?

The feature may already be on. To be sure it’s turned on, follow the step on our turn on/off Photo Gallery Backup page.

How often are photos and videos backed up?

Photos and videos from the Gizmo Watch 3 are automatically backed up when either:

The watch is plugged in and charging and has more than 50% battery life.
It’s been more than 24 hours since the last backup and the watch has more than 60% battery life.

What happens when the Photo Gallery Backup storage limit is reached?

When the Photo Gallery Backup storage limit is reached:

The Photo Gallery Backup turns off automatically.
No more files are saved to the Gizmo Cloud until you free up storage by deleting previous files.

Important: After you free up storage, remember to turn Photo Gallery Backup back on to continue saving files to the Gizmo Cloud.

Can the photos and videos that are backed up on the Gizmo Cloud be viewed from a Gizmo Watch 3?

No. Only photos and videos stored on the watch can be viewed from the watch. Files that have been backed up to the Gizmo Cloud can be viewed or shared from the GizmoHub app on your smartphone.

How do I view, share, download photos and videos that have been backed up?

Why did my Gizmo watch video call end and/or turn off?

To prevent overheating, a video call on the Gizmo Watch 3 or GizmoWatch Disney Edition is limited to 3 minutes. The call will ends at 3 minutes or whenever the internal temperature of the watch gets too warm. Here's what you can expect:

If the watch starts to overheat during the video call, a thermometer icon appears. The user can end the call to keep the watch from getting warmer.
If the thermometer reaches its max level, the call ends and the device goes into cool-down mode.
Cool-down can take several minutes, depending on the device temperature and air temperature.
After the watch cools down you can use it as usual.

Why can't I locate or message my Gizmo watch?

You must have the GizmoHub app on your smartphone to locate or message the Gizmo watch. Without the app, you can only call the Gizmo watch.

Why isn't the GizmoHub app working?

If your GizmoHub app isn't working, get the latest version from Apple App Store or Google Play.

Important: To successfully pair with Gizmo watches, every Caregiver or Guardian must use the latest version of GizmoHub app.

Why isn't my Gizmo charging?

If your Gizmo watch isn't charging, the metal contacts of the watch and/or charger may be dirty or corroded. Turn off the device, unplug the charger, and clean the contacts with a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe.

Avoid damage to your Gizmo watch by reading Caring for Your Device instructions in the User Guide. The User Guide has important information about your watch’s water resistance, safety and operation.

Why is the reported location wrong for my Gizmo watch?

Your Gizmo's location reporting depends on the positioning systems available. The Gizmo watch tries to detect location in 3 ways, in this order:

Global Positioning System (GPS) is the most accurate location method:
- GPS works best outdoors under clear, open sky.
- Under optimum conditions, locating with GPS can take 15-30 seconds. Accuracy can be within a few yards.
Wi-Fi Positioning - Indoors or where outdoor GPS is weak, Gizmo watch scans for Wi-Fi signals to determine location. Accuracy may vary:
- Location is generally less accurate than GPS.
- Locating can take 30-40 seconds. Accuracy can be within tens of yards or as much as hundreds of yards.
- Accuracy depends on a third-party Wi-Fi vendor's location database. If that database is outdated, some locations may not be accurate.
- Wi-Fi works in the background only to assist with location. Wi-Fi is not user-accessible for any other features.
Cellular Positioning - If GPS and Wi-Fi aren't available, Gizmo watch tries to determine location using cellular (wireless) towers:
- Accuracy depends on how far away the cell tower is.
- Location determined by cellular might be accurate within tens of yards, or within a mile if towers are far apart.
