Q: What eSIM actions can I take using the My Verizon app?

Verizon mobile plan customers can use the My Verizon app to: Move an existing mobile number to a different eSIM-enabled smartphone or feature phone (bring your own device). Replace a lost or defective SIM. Upgrade from a 4G SIM to a 5G SIM or physical SIM to eSIM. When you use the My Verizon app: You won’t need the device IMEI number or SIM ICCID number. No need to search and scan a QR Code. Your service is activated instantly over Wi-Fi. No physical SIM is required. No need to wait for a SIM card in the mail.

Q: Who can use the My Verizon app to move a line or change to an eSIM profile?

You can use the My Verizon app to move a line or manage a phone's eSIM if all of these apply: You are a Verizon customer with a standard monthly mobile plan. You are the Account Owner or an Account Manager You have an eSIM compatible phone that's unlocked. You have the My Verizon app.

Q: Is there a charge for moving my line to another device?

No. There is no charge (or fee) if you move your line using the My Verizon app.

Q: How can I tell if my device has an eSIM?

To find out if your device has eSIM, or can get eSIM, check the settings under About or About Phone.

Q: I completed the eSIM line transfer but can’t make or receive calls. What do I do?

Q: How do I move my line to another device in the My Verizon app?

To move your current mobile line to a new device: Connect to Wi-Fi on your new device. Download the latest My Verizon app version from the App Store / Play Store on the device you want to activate. Open the My Verizon app and sign in. The app then automatically guides you through the transfer process. If you’re already signed in: Go to the Account tab. Select the line you want to move. Scroll down and choose Change or replace device on this line or Activate or get SIM. Follow the prompts. Note: Only the Account Owner or Account Manager can move existing lines of service.

Q: Do I need my old phone during the transfer?

Yes. You need your old phone for authentication if there's only one line on your account. However, if you have multiple lines, you can use another device on the account to authenticate.

Q: What happens to my old phone after I move my number?

After you move your number to the new device, service is deactivated on the old phone. You can use the old phone with a different carrier or for other purposes. If the old phone had a physical SIM card, you can remove and discard it.

Q: How can I get a new eSIM profile if I lost or deleted mine?

To get a new eSIM profile for your device if you lost or deleted your profile: Sign in to the My Verizon app. Go to the Account tab. Select the that needs a new eSIM profile. Scroll down and select Activate or get SIM. Follow the prompts.
