Use hum by Verizon to Turn Your Vehicle Into a Connected Car

Meet hum by Verizon. A plug-and-play, subscription-based service*, which works with most cars to provide vehicle diagnostics, roadside assistance and other helpful features. With hum you can turn the vehicle you love into a more connected, smarter mode of transportation.
And hum is available for a new, lower price through the end of May, so the perfect time to get it is now.
When you sign up for hum, you’ll receive an OBD reader,a Bluetooth™ speaker, and an emailed link to setup your hum account. To complete account setup, simply click the link provided in your welcome email, download the hum app (iOS, Android) and provide your VIN (vehicle identification number) and odometer reading. Next, plug the OBD reader into your car’s OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostic) port - it’s the same port that mechanics use to diagnose your car and is usually found below the dash to the left of the steering wheel - and clip the speaker to your visor.
Finally, go for a drive and listen to the welcome greeting from the hum speaker to confirm activation.
Dedicated buttons on the speaker provide one-touch access to emergency help and hum customer service- trained experts who can connect you with roadside assistance and mechanics hotline. The hum app shows in-depth vehicle diagnostics and connects you to hum features when you're on the road.
Should your vehicle be involved in an accident, hum's incident alert automatically calls for emergency assistance. It can then use its integrated GPS to show your location, so help can reach you quickly. If your car is stolen, hum can send your car's location to local law enforcement. hum can even send you text or email reminders to put extra money in a parking meter, or let you know when it's time for your next oil change.
And, that check engine light that came on? Your hum system can help diagnose the reason it's lit with easy-to-understand diagnostic trouble codes (DTC), so you're able to address the issue before it becomes a bigger problem.
Plus, hum helps give you confidence when you do need a repair by giving access to hum’s ASE certified mechanic’s hotline (for unbiased troubleshooting).
